The Fairbury Public School District offers a competitive substitute salary and high quality teaching and learning environments in our four school sites – Fairbury Jr/Sr High, Jefferson Intermediate, Central Elementary and CHANCE Alternative schools.

 

Note that individuals with four-year degrees, as well as those with a minimum of 60 college credit hours, may be eligible to apply for a “Local Substitute Teaching Certificate“. This provision allows qualified applicants the opportunity to substitute teach in one designated school district.  

 

The requirements for a local substitute permit includes the following:

 

  1. An application and fee in the Nebraska TEACH system https://teach.education.ne.gov/ 
  2. Have at least 60 credit hours of college credit (NOTE: The 60 credit hours must appear on a transcript and sent to Educator Certification along with the human relations training transcript.)
  3. Human relations training course (This course is required by state statute.) (list of approved human relations courses)
  4. A letter from the superintendent of the school district where the local substitute permit will be assigned
